The United States Institute for Peace (USIP) wanted to create a community hub for their peace-builders, something that BracketMedia had undertaken before for the Peace and Collaboration Development Network (PCDN). We soon realized that this project was much larger and more complicated. We couldn’t wait to get started.
USIP works to prevent, mitigate, and resolve violent conflict around the world by engaging directly in conflict zones and by providing analysis, education, and resources to those working for peace.
Their website offers online courses, as well as registration for special workshops and in-person training.
Our initial work involved maintenance of the original website, including the adaptation of non-BracketMedia architecture. Custom plug-ins were created to replace ones installed that were restricting the USIP workflow. We streamlined the process for creating and maintaining profile pages and enabled new features for site administrators to manage complex information.
Bracket also helped to automate USIP’s process for integrating WordPress users with a Salesforce CRM. We optimized their servers in anticipation of significant traffic increases over the coming months.
