It’s All About the Ball

Back

Based out of California and boasting an assortment of fun and energetic employees scattered around the world, One World Play Project is a case very near and dear to our heart. We have custom made each integration to work seamlessly with each other and to provide an amazing user experience.

About the project

OWPP created an almost indestructible ultra-durable fútbol to bring the transformative power of play to the hundreds of millions of youth who lack access to something as simple as a ball to play with. With the help of their founding sponsor, Chevrolet, their global network of giving partners, and their Buy-One Give-One customers, they have now distributed over 1 million of their revolutionary balls to communities around the world.

Work involved

Bracketmedia was recommended to the One World team in 2014 by a mutual friend and former client based on our immense love for fútbol and a good digital challenge. After hearing their story and the way they were making a difference around the world, we were eager to get started to help them optimize their incredible efforts.

One World needed a completely customized WordPress site where users could learn about different campaigns for nonprofits and communities around the world, donate balls to their favorite causes, buy merchandise donating a percentage to the campaign of their choice, and even create their own campaign and collect donations.

The Challenge

With the demand for these super balls increasing rapidly, it was clear that in order to fulfill the needs of all of these communities and willing donors around the world, there would need to be a very tight system in place.

OWPP’s old e-commerce site was far from ideal. Every order coming in from around the world needed to be processed manually by their internal team, taking up countless hours of their week. Their biggest challenge however was with their distribution center as there was no integration in place, meaning each purchase also needed to be sent manually. Our solution was to implement a RESTFUL API with their distribution center, integrating the two systems and allowing their team to save time and fully focus on reaching more children in need and improving their product. Since the update, the One World team has been able to expand their mission, products, and services to enable play in all of its forms—anywhere and everywhere.

Bracketmedia is a friendly and easy group to work with. They're thoughtful, responsive and have a great 'can do' attitude. From bringing new projects to life to meeting our company's everyday needs, I enjoy working with them.
